DSHS Teacher Receives State Humanities Award

Dripping Springs High School English Language Arts teacher Yvonne Kaatz has been selected as a 2017 Outstanding Teacher of the Humanities by the organization Humanities Texas. The award is presented annually by the organization in recognition of exemplary contributions of humanities teachers in Texas elementary, middle, and high schools.

Ms. Kaatz is in her 19th year teaching at Dripping Springs High School and her 28th year overall. Currently she serves as the English Department chair and teaches AP, Pre-AP, and G/T English courses.

At the beginning of the 2017-18 school year, Ms. Kaatz will receive a $5,000 award in recognition of her achievements and DSHS will receive $500 to use towards humanities instructional materials or to improve humanities courses and programs.
