Junior Wins State Speech Contest

Seeley Haas, a junior at Dripping Springs High School, won the 11th-grade division of the 2017 Texas Association for Pupil Transportation (TAPT) State Bus Safety Speech Contest. At this competition, 47 students from across the state competed in each grade-level division (Grades 9-12). Seeley researched, wrote, and memorized and six-minute speech on the topic "My Driver, My Safety Hero."

This is the second consecutive year that Seeley has placed first in her age division, having won the 10-grade contest last year. She also placed third as a freshman. This year alone, Seeley has been awarded almost $1000 in scholarships from the TAPT competitions.
